Pet Penguin who Buys His Own Fish

Loading ...This is quite amazing. Lala is a ten year old King Penguin, owned by a family in Japan. They noticed he liked to walk and is smart, so they made him a little penguin backpack, and trained him to walk to the fish market every day. He buys his own fish there, and brings some home to eat! Cutest video of the week so far.

To FrenchChic16, no idea how he got there. A penguin washed up in New Zealand recently, but Japan is too far. They do have exotic pets there, like Owls and Slow Loris’.
I’ve heard birds live up to ten times longer in captivity than the wild. And Japanese folk live a long time anyways. It might be one lucky penguin!

I’m not sure the male fish owner is as into him as his wife. That’s a lot of (free?) fish he can fit in his stomach!
