This collection of cute dormouse pictures shows one of the main activities of these little guys – sleeping! Dormice are known for their long periods of hibernation. They also have dear furry tails rather than the scaly tails of mice. All these pictures are of the Hazel Dormouse. He is the only species of dormouse that is native to the British Isles, and although there is great variety in the dormouse family (dormice can be found across Europe, in Africa and parts of Asia as well) the Hazel Dormouse is the most photographed! Sleep well cutie.
