Little Animal Olympics 2000 – Wrestling
May 18th

These baby bears used this historic picture to argue they belonged in Little Animal Olympics because they are famous and the true originator of the whole concept of Little Animal Olympics. All the other Little Animal Olympics contestants objected as baby bears are much larger than little animals. Especially now, as these baby bears are quite grown up!

Blow us a bubble, baby!
Apr 29th
This cute beluga whale is blowing a bubble to entertain his visitors at the Shimane Aquarium in Japan where he lives with two other beluga whales. Beluga whales live in the Arctic and sub-Arctic waters along the coasts of Alaska, Canada, Greenland and Russia. The whales are known for their playfulness (they like blowing bubbles and spitting at each other), they can swim backwards (unlike other whales) and the high pitched twitter they make has given them the nickname, ‘sea canary’. These beautiful creatures are sadly also a threatened species. You can see more pictures of this guy and read a little about him here.
